Best Banks in Venezuela
BBVA Banco Provincial was named Best Bank in Venezuela, for the third time, by The Banker in the 2010 awards conferred in London. In addition, it has been named Best Bank in Venezuela by Latin Finance magazine. The award was announced inside Latin Finance November/December 2009 magazine.
Mercantil Banco Universal is also one of the top leading banks in the country and the first bank to incorporate chip technology in its ATMs and credit and debit cards. It has the highest international rating for banks in Venezuela.
Latin Finance magazine awarded Mercantil Banco Universal its prize for Best Bank in Venezuela in 2010. The Banker, in its December 2009 edition, chose Mercantil Banco Universal as the “Best Bank in Venezuela” in 2009 thanks to its outstanding financial performance. The Global Finance magazine, in its July 2009 issue, selected Mercantil Banco Universal as the “Best Consumer Internet Bank” in the individuals category in Venezuela. In its February 2009 issue, Global Finance selected Mercantil Banco Universal as The Best Trade Finance Provider-2009”.

Chamber of Commerce (Cavecom-e). The Bank was selected for being pioneer and leader in electronic
development in Venezuela's financial system and the only company with the ISO 9001:2000 certification. Furthermore, the Bank was recognized by Gerente magazine the “Best on the Web” in 2008, as a pioneer in the field of Internet Banking.
