Best Banks in Malta

Bank of Valletta and HSBC Bank have been named the best banks in Malta by international publications.

The Bank of Valletta Group is a leading financial services provider in Malta, offering a comprehensive range of financial services including investment banking, private banking, fund management, bancassurance and stockbroking. The BOV Group comprises Bank of Valletta p.l.c., Valletta Fund Management Limited, Valletta Fund Services Limited and BOV Investments Limited. Bank of Valletta was named as the Best Bank in Malta for 2007 by Global Finance magazine. This is the fourth time in the past seven years that BOV has won the Global Finance Best Bank award.

Bank of Valletta also featured among the finalists for the Financial Innovation Awards in 2010, with three distinct projects. Financial results released by the Bank of Valletta Group revealed a pre-tax profit reaching €98.9 million for the financial year ended 30 September 2010.

HSBC is the largest bank in Malta with a wide retail network. The Bank's ordinary shares were listed on the Official List of the Malta Stock Exchange on 4 January 1993. HSBC provides deal execution for a range of investments both locally and internationally, and offers a broad range of stockbroking services. It can also arrange and support the listing of stocks and shares on Malta Stock Exchange (MSE) and provide advice on corporate finance requirements. HSBC has received The Banker award of Best Bank in Malta during 2008 and 2009.
