Best Bank in France

Both BNP Paribas and Societe Generale have been awarded the title 'Best Bank in France' by leading financial publications:

BNP Paribas has been named 'Global Bank of the Year 2008' by The Banker magazine, at the ninth annual Banker Awards in London. It was also named 'Best Bank in Western Europe' and 'Best Bank in France'. BNP Paribas is recognized as a leader in global banking and financial services and one of the strongest banks in the world (Rated AA by Standard & Poor's i.e. 3rd rating on a scale of 22). BNP Paribas group was also named “Best Energy Finance Bank 2009” by the magazine Trade Finance.

In Euromoney Awards for Excellence, BNP Paribas received the following honors: Best Bank in France, Best Global Infrastructure & Project Finance, Best Project Finance House in Western Europe, Best Debt House in Western Europe, Best Project Finance House in Central Eastern Europe, and Best Project Finance House in Africa.

Societe Generale was established on May 4, 1864 in France by a decree signed by Napoleon III. It is the third largest corporate and investment bank in the euro zone, and has received a number of awards such as: Bank of the year 2006 (The Banker); The best bank in France (Euromoney 2007); The best private bank in France, Luxembourg and worldwide (Euromoney 2007); to name a few.
