Best Managed Companies in the World

Kyocera Corporation has been named to IndustryWeek magazine's annual list of "The World's 100 Best-Managed Companies". Candidates for this honor were selected by the magazine's editors from the "IndustryWeek 1000," a list of the world's largest publicly held manufacturing companies released in June 1998. Companies were selected through a four-step process: analysis of the company's financial performance; review of a questionnaire mailed to each IW 1000 company; research into company's practices in areas such as philanthropy and safety; and voting by a panel of over 80 business leaders, analysts and academicians from around the world.

ABB, the global technology company, has also been named for the second year in a row to IndustryWeek's 100-Best Managed Companies list. The ABB Group serves customers in power transmission and distribution; automation; oil, gas, and petrochemicals; building technologies; and in financial services. ABB is headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, and its shares are traded on the stock exchanges of Zurich, Stockholm and New York.

Pfizer has received numerous awards including being named one of the 100 World's Best Managed Companies (IndustryWeek 2000). In addition, it has been ranked 21st of Top 500 US and 20th of Top 100 Global Green Companies by Newsweek. Pfizer was the first U.S. company to establish a corporate governance department in 1992.
