According to the Global Finance magazine (www.gfmag.com) rankings of the top 10 "Safest Banks in North America" (October 2010 issue), Canada is home to the top 4 safest banks in the region, led by the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). In the United States, BNY Mellon topped the list nationally and in the top 5 regionally. However, other top US banks such as Bank of America and Citigroup are absent from the list.
